Covington
Downtown Covington embodies brilliant traditional and modern nuances. Spectacular Victorian architecture inspires the downtown district dotted with graceful trees and a charming park, the venue for many distinctive occasions.
Juxtaposed with Covington’s Central Business District which includes the business center of the City of Covington, several large shopping centers and The Square, there’s ample commerce. The retail along the I-20 Corridor is wonderfully robust, including an extraordinary art gallery and specialty apparel store.
Listed on the National Register of Historic Places are The Covington Historic District and the North Covington Historic District, both within the city. Covington itself is located in north central Georgia, in the eastern part of Metro Atlanta.
Thanks to the abundance of movies made in this picturesque town, Covington has justifiably been dubbed “The Hollywood of the South.” Such classics include Vampire Diaries (eight seasons), The Dukes of Hazzard, The Cannonball Run, Friday the 13th, Remember the Titans, Sweet Home Alabama, and Footloose.
